About JisuPost English

JisuPost English is an English learning service designed to do more than show a word's basic meaning. It helps learners choose language that is accurate, natural, and appropriate for a particular situation.

What You Can Learn

The service brings together an English Dictionary, definitions, pronunciation, examples, synonyms, antonyms, Better Words, formal English, academic English, business English, word comparisons, vocabulary practice, and Word Search activities. Context labels help learners understand why one alternative may fit a report, conversation, essay, or workplace message better than another.

Data Sources

On-demand dictionary entries are retrieved through FreeDictionaryAPI.com, whose English content is sourced from Wiktionary under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Original source and license links are preserved on applicable entries. Synonym, antonym, related-word, spelling, and autocomplete suggestions may be supplemented by the Datamuse API. Editorial Better Word classifications remain a separate JisuPost English layer and are not automatically inferred from general API synonyms.

The Story Behind Word Search

The Word Search feature was inspired by an analog classroom method. An English teacher would draw a grid on paper and place vocabulary words into it one at a time to create learning materials. JisuPost English develops that practical idea into an online tool that can automatically build a puzzle for play or classroom practice.
