How the Crossword Maker Works
- Enter 3–20 English words using spaces, commas, or new lines.
- Review the definitions found in our Dictionary. Unknown words are clearly marked.
- Create a genuine connected Across/Down crossword, then play online or print it for class.
The maker sends only the entered words for lookup and never downloads the complete Dictionary database. Temporary puzzles stay in your browser and do not create thin indexable pages.
Tips for a Better Layout
Choose words that share common letters. If some words cannot connect without touching or colliding incorrectly, the maker lists them as unplaced. Use Generate Another Layout to try a new valid arrangement.
